Redfish, Trout, and Flounder Heating Up Along the Coastal Bend
Rockport Beach - Aransas, TX
Fishing around Rockport is off to a strong start this June, with consistent bites across inshore waters and bay systems. Water temps are sitting in the upper 70s to low 80s, and recent calm conditions have made for productive days on the water. Whether you’re wading, drifting, or casting from a skiff, now’s a great time to get out.
Redfish are schooling up along the shorelines and grass flats—look for them tailing in shallow water during early morning hours. Cut mullet, shrimp, and paddle tails are all producing solid strikes. Speckled trout action has picked up, especially around shell banks and deeper drop-offs. Anglers using topwater plugs early and switching to soft plastics as the sun climbs are seeing good numbers. Flounder are also making a strong showing near marsh cuts and along sandy bottoms—perfect for those targeting a slam.
Offshore reports are starting to roll in with good numbers of kingfish and snapper showing up just beyond the jetties. As we move deeper into summer, expect even more species variety. Overall, Rockport is offering solid fishing across the board right now, and with fair tides and clean water, this is the perfect time to plan a trip.
